Use this guide to understand the results shown in your DNA testing portal.
DNA Sexing
Male
Sample tested as genetically male.
Female
Sample tested as genetically female.
Recessive White Gene
C/C Homozygous (Negative)
No copies detected. This bird is not a carrier.
C/c Heterozygous (1 Copy)
One copy detected. This bird is a carrier and can pass the allele to offspring.
c/c Homozygous Recessive White (Two Copies)
Two copies detected. This bird is genetically recessive white and will pass one copy to all offspring.
Blue Egg Gene
O/O Homozygous (Two Copies)
Two copies detected. This bird will pass the blue egg gene to 100% of its offspring.
O/o Heterozygous (1 Copy)
One copy detected. This bird can pass the blue egg gene to approximately 50% of its offspring.
o/o Non-Carrier (Zero Copies)
No copies detected. This bird will not pass the tested blue egg gene variant to its offspring.
